K is for KANAFA!
This is kanafa made in Nablus, Palestine. Most Palestinians would argue that the best kanafa comes from Nablus, and I do have to agree. Kanafa is a favorite Palestinian dessert for many people, me included!
Kanafa is made with shredded phyllo dough, a layer of sweet cheese, and drenched with syrup. The orange- reddish color, kanafa dye, is signature for kanafa and can be found in most Middle Eastern grocery stores. Top it with pistachios and this is one impressive dessert for when you have company coming over.
